Another Workshop On The Go Layout

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is another of the Workshop on the Go Kits, Made with the Crusin Papers. I really like this layout for a couple of reasons. It is a little different in appearance…The little squares on the left page make it stand out from traditional layouts. And I get to use up some old photos. You know the ones, that were taken 20 plus years ago that were grainy and from cameras with no zoom. So I got to crop my photos into little squares, and you would never know that the images that I cropped were on regular sized photos with lots of blank space. Plus instead of one 5x7 photo I got to use the odd sized 3.5x5 inch photos that were printed back in the day. Retro Style I guess.

One other change I made was that I just couldn’t bring myself to use the only 2 Grey Wool Patterned papers (with another cool design on the backside) for base pages. So I used Grey Flannel Cardstock and I took my Grey Flannel Ink Pad and swiped it directly onto the cardstock to give it some texture. I think it looks just as nice.

Lucy Workshop On The Go

_2266763 Maddison will always be my girl (Medium)

I made this layout loosely following the Lucy Workshop On the Go. I mean loosely, as I made several changes so that it barely resembles the original workshop. This is one thing I absolutely love about the workshops on the go. You have complete instruction to make the always fabulous layout or you can use the instructions as a starting point to make it however you feel like. One of the major changes was to use different background paper. I just like the flowery paper for this layout better than the one in the inst4ructions. I also did a different title, embellishment placement and even where I put the 2x2 photos. So you see, my own style.

Footloose Workshop On The Go

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

These Papers from the Footloose Workshop On the Go make me smile. They just seem so bright and fun looking. I knew my photos of fishing with family would go perfect.

I know that the instructions come with the Workshop on the Go kits but I still like to do a few things different for my layouts.

One thing I had to do was to make my own base pages. I just cannot seem to use the patterned paper in the kit for this. To do this I took plain Bamboo cardstock and sanded the edges with sandpaper. I then took my dotted stamp from the Argyle Background stamp set and randomly stamped it with Cocoa Ink, making sure to use different generations of the ink so it would be lighter in most areas.

One other thing I did different is only use one layer of wooden badge buttons as I didn’t want my layout too thick when it gets stored into my album. These buttons are no thicker than regular buttons but I do not see too much need to have your layout any thicker than necessary.

Celebrate Today

 _B105832 celebrate (Medium)

I was blog hopping one day and came across this layout from Sherri Tozzi I really liked it. So I decided to make one similar to hers. I made the scalloped circles with a 2 inch punch and cut them in half. I also took a 1 ¼ inch plain circle punch and punched out red circles and cut them in half too. I layered the circles together. I then took my 1/8th inch circle punch and punched out little circles in the scalloped part.

I took the Pennant Alphabet stamp and stamped out today onto sunny yellow cardstock and then cut out the pennants. I made the banner string out of waxy flax and tied little bows on the end.
