Photos, Photos and More Photos!

Every Boxing Day until January 3rd my photo processor has a 9 cent print sale. What a deal! I look forward to this sale all year. I do believe, that even though I went digital a few years ago, that photos should still be printed to be admired. So...800 hundred photos later...

Now with all these photos I dug out one of my new stamp sets, Save the Date D1386, and stamped the date on the back of all my photos with stazon ink.

Now, I did not get too technical with the date only the month and year. I did not worry about the exact day.

I sorted all the photos into chronological order and placed them into my photo albums. You can see this picture at the top. On the spine of these albums I made tags with the year on them and labels as to the occasions or events like Lake Photos, Christopher and Becki's Wedding, Family Photos etc. This saves a whole pile of time when you go hunting for a certain photo. I did discover this system when I took a Library Of Memories Class taught by Stacy Julien at Big Picture Scrapbooks. It was one of the best classes I ever took and well worth the money.
So...this is where I have been spending my time the last couple of days. Now that I am done I will get some time to do more scrapbooking.

My granddaughter Novalee is wearing a beautiful blue dress that was mine...her grandmothers...and is 42 years old. Novalee's mother wore it too, but unfortunately, I have no pictures of her wearing it. I do hope that one day Novalee's daughter will wear it too! How precious would that be.

My Color Drawers

Today I am going to talk a little about organizing my embellishments. Have you ever lost some of you embellishments? You know you bought that certain item but have no idea where you put it. You spend hours looking only to be disappointed and not find it. Then a month down the road it turns up in the spot you left it so you would not forget about it. That was me! Scrapbooking took so much time just looking for just the right brad or flower. So I was on the search for a better system. Then I came across the color drawers that Stacy Julien from Simple Scrapbooks used.
I just knew I had to do it.
So, I went to Target and bought these drawer cabinets. They are made by Sterilite. They are a great size as they will hold 12 x 12 paper too!

I have each one labelled with my colors...one for red, one for pink, one for blue and so on. Then I sorted my colors of embellishments into these drawers. So now, if I am working on a page for my granddaughter and need pink embellishments and flowers I go to my pink drawer and everything is in there. I have saved myself so much time by having color drawers. It is the best system ever! I have had this in place for over a year now and have not regretted it once ever.
If you have any questions about this, please let me know. I would be happy to explain it further to you.
