A few days ago I had the pleasure of having my granddaughter over for her first holiday without her Mom. What a wonderful few days! I am so lucky to be able to spend lots of time with her. I couldn't resist taking some photos of her under the Christmas tree. I am sure that when she gets older she will think that camera was actually attached to me permanently.

The above layout features this kit. The papers and the die cut are just beautiful! It goes perfectly with this layout. My granddaughter Novalee is wearing a beautiful blue dress that was mine...her grandmothers...and is 42 years old. Novalee's mother wore it too, but unfortunately, I have no pictures of her wearing it. I do hope that one day Novalee's daughter will wear it too! How precious would that be.

My Color Drawers

Today I am going to talk a little about organizing my embellishments. Have you ever lost some of you embellishments? You know you bought that certain item but have no idea where you put it. You spend hours looking only to be disappointed and not find it. Then a month down the road it turns up in the spot you left it so you would not forget about it. That was me! Scrapbooking took so much time just looking for just the right brad or flower. So I was on the search for a better system. Then I came across the color drawers that Stacy Julien from Simple Scrapbooks used.
I just knew I had to do it.
So, I went to Target and bought these drawer cabinets. They are made by Sterilite. They are a great size as they will hold 12 x 12 paper too!

I have each one labelled with my colors...one for red, one for pink, one for blue and so on. Then I sorted my colors of embellishments into these drawers. So now, if I am working on a page for my granddaughter and need pink embellishments and flowers I go to my pink drawer and everything is in there. I have saved myself so much time by having color drawers. It is the best system ever! I have had this in place for over a year now and have not regretted it once ever.
If you have any questions about this, please let me know. I would be happy to explain it further to you.

Oh, those Toes!

My daughter and I took footprints and hand prints of my granddaughter. Oh, were they so small. I knew I had to scrapbook them. My daughter looked all over the Internet and finally found some non toxic baby nail polish in Fargo North Dakota and had a few colors shipped here. so, when Novalee was sleeping one afternoon she painted her little toe nails. How adorable is that! Anyways, here is the layout I made of this occasion. Hope you enjoy it.

I know I posted the Frankenstein before but I wanted to show you the snowman and the elf gift bags. These are so adorable!
I am not going to list the supplies I used to make these as I am thinking about holding a workshop making these in the future, but I just wanted to show you them with Christmas coming.
