My Family Mini Album

_1236512 little things album (Small)

I am really impressed with the way this album turned out. I fell in love with the paper kit when it came out in the Spring 2012 Close To My Heart catalogue. Also the Color Ready Garden Wooden Shapes make the cover of my album stand out. Just Beautiful.

For the scalloped frame I used the art philosophy oval D2 through Cricut Craft Room and used size 6”wide by 4.194” long

Here is a layout I did using the “Dotty for you” papers.

When I seen the Dotty For You B&T Duos Special I knew I had to use these Photos of my granddaughter. The colors in the photos just go with the papers.

One thing I did to this layout was to stamp on of the flowers in the Hooray Bouquet Set to form by bottom border. To do this I drew a line in pencil 2 inches up from the bottom of the paper and one inch from each side, then I inked up the stamp and stamped the flower making sure that it was centered on the line. Then when I paced my orange dotty paper I placed it exactly on the line that I drew so only the bottom half of the flower shows.

I cut 3 different sizes of the flower with my coordinating cricut Cartridge, Art Philosophy and stamped the flowers then layered them. I gently bent the petals downwards and popped them up with a foam dot for dimension.

My title was made with the Pennant Alphabet, cut out by hand then placed along the bakers twine string, with foam dots too for dimension.

My Toopie…

_2056641 my toopie (Medium)

I knew I had a couple of 5x7 photos that I wanted to use so I went looking through my CTMH Sketch books and came across the sketch Jazzy Combination in the Imagine book. I used the basic sketch but I tweaked it to make it more my style.

I used the Pemberley paper packet as well with the general colors that coordinate to the paper but I also wanted to use a little bit of Sunset as it was the color of Goofy…or I mean Toopie’s shirt. LOL

For the embellishments I used the Color Ready Garden shapes and colored them with desert sand, then highlighted them with Bronze Glitz Glitter Gel. I really like this stuff. It goes on fine using the micro tip and you can spread it around with the same tip. I also left a little spot to either place a sparkle or a pearl.

I used liquid glass on all the dots in the background and Texture paper. Just a subtle little bit but it does look really nice in person.

Another thing I did was to make my title from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge but I want to weld the letters together so they are one piece instead of individual letters. To do this I went to the cricut website and downloaded their FREE program called Cricut Craft Room. You can do some pretty cool things there. You need to hook your circuit up to your computer and once that is done you can start playing. OMG…try it out for yourself is all I can say.

One last thing I did was I made the scalloped border with the corner rounder. I took off the guide that goes around the punch so I can punch a strip instead of a corner. I turned the punch over to the backside so I can see and punched starting at one side making sure to line up the little V at the bottom of the punch where your corner would normally go. Then I moved the punch over so I could just see where the last punch was made then moved it just a little farther, maybe an 1/8 of an inch, really guessing at the distance then punched again. I continued on doing this for the length of the paper. I think it turned out beautiful!

Using the Workshop On The Go Layouts with different papers

_3317027 Moments to live for Stella papers (Medium)

I know that I am always talking about the Workshops on the Go Kits and the layouts they have instructions for, so today is going to be no different LOL. I used an old Workshop On the Go Instruction pamphlet from the Veranda Kit and used my New Stella Papers and this is the result. The basic Idea is the same but with different papers and embellishments you would never know it was the same sketch.

You will notice that down below is two more layouts using the same WOTG Sketch.  You can see that by using different papers and a few different embellishments you can totally different looks.

_3317029 Perfect Day Lighthouse (Medium)

For this layout I used the Sarsaparilla Paper packet.

_3317031 Something Wonderful happens (Medium)

For this layout I used the Fanfare paper packet.

Try this sometime.  Take the same sketch and use different paper and see for yourself how nice and different the layouts turn out.  And in doing this you will also save time scrapbooking as you will already have decided on the layout, and have the paper measurements handy.

Don’t Just Scrapbook Occasions

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Sometimes we only scrapbook occasions. That is okay but it doesn’t tell the whole story of our lives. I do take some time and scrapbook the little things that make up my life. Technology is forever changing at a fast rate and it seems like we cannot keep up with it. That is why I scrapbooked about our TV’s. From our first Black and white to my flat screen with PVR it tells how TV has evolved in my years…something that my kids can think about in a few years themselves and remember some of what I am talking about.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I did have so much to say and describe that I had to hide it behind one of the photos. To do this I used our Flip Flap memory Protectors. So you see, that these flip flaps have another purpose that to strictly add more photos.

A 15 Minute Layout

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This layout was so quick and easy I think I was done in about 15 minutes. I used the Magic how to book and picked out the Enchantment sketch, cut the papers then attached them to my card bases. I finished off the layout by attaching the coordinating My Stickease Stamped a saying, wrote the date and I was done. You just cannot get any better than that…faster, simpler, easier.
