Childhood Portrait

Good Morning! Today, this card has one of my favorite stamp sets this catalogue on it...Childhood Portraits. You can see the entire stamp set here. It also uses the Sweet Home paper packet that you can see here.

I cut out some hearts from the stamp set and attached the smaller hearts to the bigger heart by sewing on some embroidery floss. Then I attached them to the card with Foam dots to pop them up. I also went around the piece that I stamped the kids on with the finger daubers using Buttercup ink.

All supplies are Close To My Heart unless otherwise noted:

Colors are Buttercup, Garnet, Heavenly Blue and Indian Corn Blue.

Novalee's Baby Album

This is the front cover of my Granddaughter, Novalee's Baby album. This is a Close to My Heart's 12x12 Linen Album. I really love these albums. They are soft and very well made and will last a lifetime. I also love the new Snapease System that our albums are coming with now. You no longer have to turn out the back screws to add more page protectors, you just lift off the snapease strip and add the pages. What a time saving feature. I do put on an album cover to keep sticky fingerprints off the fabric and to keep dust off it too, (yes, I do have a dust problem.... I don't know how it accumulates so fast...LOL). Anyways, All supplies are Close To My Heart.
That's Amore Paper Packet with colors, Blush, Hollyhock and Chocolate
12x12 Linen Album in Hollyhock
Autumn Daisy Flowers
Clear buttons
Chipboard letters (covered with paper)
Blush Waxy Flax
Sewing machine with White thread

I hope you like it and be sure that I will post many layouts to fill this album.
Take Care

Alp Horn

Sorry for the bad scan. These pages really do match up! Last fall my hubby and I went on a Rhine River Cruise through The Netherlands, Germany, France and ended up in Switzerland. It truly was the trip of a lifetime. In the pages above we took a cog train up the Swiss Alps just outside of Lucerne.
For the chipboard I recolored it with 3 different colors of ink. I used Black, Cranberry and Bamboo. I started with the Bamboo (the lightest Color) and sponged the entire Chipboard letter. Then with Cranberry Ink I sponged the bottom 2/3 of the letter going over the bamboo at the bottom. Then with Black I sponged only the bottom 1/3. I adhered them to the layout with glue dots (the greatest invention ever!).
I also used the Stardust paper packet with this layout but I did not want the bright stars so I used the backside of the paper...a really cool feature of Close To My Heart paper...Great multi toned paper on one side and a monochromatic color on the backside...
All supplies are CTMH unless otherwise noted:
Stardust paper packet X7109B
Black, Cranberry,Bamboo and Desert Sand Cardstock
Cranberry Embroidery Floss
Dimensional Elements Monograms
Desert Sand Ink

Thanks for visiting!

This is a quick card made by blending 3 different copic markers together.
First you start with the lightest color (B14) and color in the whole flower petals. Then you start from the outer edge of the petals and color about 50% inward with the middle color (B16) then use the darkest color (B18)and starting from the outer edge color only about 5% inward. Then with the lightest color (B14) color over top of the whole petal to blend the edges from the different colors. You have to work quickly so your color doesn't dry before you get a chance to blend. Practice is the key!
All supplies are CTMH unless otherwise noted:
D1247 From me to You
C1361 Buttoned together (for the saying)
Textured white daisy and sunflower cardstock
1/16th hole punch
Moonstruck ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Neenah solar White Cardstock
White thread
White daisy Ric rac colored with Copic G09
Copics B14, B16, B18
Thanks for looking and be sure to leave a comment if you like it.

Happy Birthday

I like the color combination on this card. It uses some brights with some muted tones. Did you know that on the side of my blog there is a Color Combo Color generator? This is a cool place that you can computer generate colors that look good together! I can spend hours looking at all the colors that look good together here. Just click on a starter color and the computer does the rest! It is specific for Close To My Heart Colors but if you do not have these yet...hahaha...you can color match with the colors that you do have on hand. Anything that is close will work. So go ahead...and click the CTMH Color Combo button the on the left side of this blog and pick some colors for your next project.

All supplies for this card is CTMH unless otherwise noted:

D1330 Connections

D1299 Thoughtful Season

D1177 No Peaking

Indian Corn Blue, Topiary and Sunny Yellow cardstock

Neenah Solor White Cardstock

Sunny Yellow Embossing Powder

Versamark Embossing Ink

Sunny Yellow Brads

Also just a note: This Birthday card is made with a Christmas stamp set! Yes you can use stamps that are for a different season. This cute little Christmas present can also double for a birthday present too! Or for that matter it can become a shower present or an anniversary present too! The uses are unlimited when you use your imagination.

Have a great day!
