Unlce Russ

This is a layout of my Uncle Russ. I have so very few photos of him it is sad. In this photo, he was in Mexico...one of his only vacations he took. He passed away many years ago from Cancer. When I was a child my family spent many weekends and holidays at his farm. He always had so many things we could play with or on. I really miss those days.

Another Maggie Monday!

Oh, these little girls are so fun to color. I am getting good use of my Copic Markers coloring these images. They are so addictive. This one, Love Notes Tilda, reminds me of a paper girl delivering the evening news. I used the emporium paper packet for this card. It wasn't my favorite paper pack, but once I started to play with it I started liking it much better. Sometimes that happens, either you play a little bit with it or you see what someone else has created with a certain paper or product and you see it in a whole other light.

When I color with my Copics I like to use at least 3 colors to blend. It looks so dimensional when you can do this. So for the Shirt I used YG95, YG93, and YG91. I start with the darkest color and lay down a few little amount. You don't want it too dark. Then I use the middle color and feather in with it, going over the dark color as well. Then I finish off with the lightest color going over both the darker colors to blend. It does take some practice...so keep with it...don't get frustrated.

I also used the Wishes Book from Close To My Heart for the sketch...Pieced together from page 34.

Peek a Boo...I see You!

This is a Workshop on the Go scrapbook Class I held on April 11th. These are really neat kits that you can purchase for $35.50. They include a paper packet with 12 sheets of patterned paper and 10 sheets of plain card stock,
a stamp set (in this case it was a cute set with swirls, flowers and pinwheels and a saying). You also get a Colonial White Mini Medley accessories packet and the workshop guide that includes instructions to pout together a 2 page layout and 3 cards. Anyone who purchases these kits from me can attend a FREE workshop to put the layout together.
I also used the CTMH Font CD to do my computer journalling. I really like these fonts that CTMH put together for us to do this.
In these photos my daughter is having her first ultrasound when she was pregnant. She asked me to come with her and Sean and I was so excited. I got to see my first grandbaby...hence the peek a boo title. LOL

Another Maggie Monday!

I made another card with those adorable Maggies. This one is called Bow sitting sideways. She was the very first Tilda that I purchased. i just love the patches on her jeans. This is also a sitting image so I can make her look like she is sitting on the patterned paper border. The artist that drew her was a genius for making the sitting images like this one.
As always she is colored with my Copic Markers.

Welcome to Maggie Monday!

Welcome to Maggie Monday! I am going to try and dedicate every Monday to the cute little stamps from Magnolia. I simply cannot resist these cute little girls and boys.
I colored one of the big white flowers with Pearl paint mixed with Vanilla Cream reinker. To do this I took a small dab of the pearl paint and placed it onto a pallet and added two or three drops of vanilla Cream reinker and mixed together with a stylus. I then took a regular paint brush and painted the top of the flower then set aside to dry. It looks so much better in person than in the picture. Nice and shimmery.
I also took some self adhesive pearls and colored them with my R22 Copic marker. I just love to do this as you can make anything match your artwork.
I colored the Tilda with copic markers and cut the image out using my new Close To My Heart Craft Knife.
I also decorated the inside of the card.

Winter layout in Spring!

I still have one layout I made of winter and I wanted to get it posted before summer came so here it is. These photos were taken in my yard. It is so pretty with hoarfrost on the trees.
I used the Glitter Rub Ons for the snowflakes. These are so easy to use. You just rub the snowflake on like normal, then take the glitter sheet and place over the snowflake and rub again transferring the glitter. These do look way better in person.
I also used another Cherish Layout...Double take on Page 102. Using these sketches make for quick layouts.

My First Easel Card

Here is my first easel card. I had so much fun making it that I know there will be many more easel cards to come! I also used one of my new Maggies...Tilda on Bike #368. These images are just so much fun to color with my copics. I also used my copics to color the sparkles. This is so neat to do as you know they will match when you are done. I just colored over top of the sparkles, waited a few seconds for it to dry then gave one more coat. All supplies are Close To My Heart unless otherwise noted.
