Happy Monday

It seems like forever since I posted a card.
I made these cute little cards for my downline who had the highest sales in my 1st, 2nd and 3rd level of downline. I have such a wonderful team; I wish I had time to make all of them a card every month!

For the strip running across the card I wanted a muted version of Sunset to match so I used White Daisy cardstock and my stipple brush and stippled Sunset Ink onto the cardstock. I think it turned out great! Using these brushes from the distressing kit really makes your supplies go farther as you can use them to make your own custom colored cardstock.

I used the Olivia Paper packet for these cards and paired it up with some unexpected color Pacifica! (other colors I used in the other cards were Lagoon and Gypsy).

Pontoon Fun

I love this sketch from the Magic How to Book. It is called On With The Show. It is a very simple layout, one that doesn’t use a whole lot of paper too! Another plus of this sketch is that it uses 4x6 photos. Lots of my customers only have 4x6 photos as they get them printed out at places like Wal-Mart or Superstore and do not have their own photo printer at home to use.

One thing I did do on this layout is to color the Color the chipboard letters that spell Oak Lake. First, I colored the top part with sweet Leaf ink using my finger dauber and rubbing in tiny circles all over the top of the letters. Next I used Crystal Blue in and did the same thing in the middle part of the letters. Lastly, I finished them off by applying Indian Corn Blue to the bottom of the letters using the same technique with the finger dauber. This gives a nice tri-color appearance. Just remember to start with the lightest color and work your way to the darkest color.

Amy's grad

Oh, my goodness, I had done these pages a while ago but somehow they got missed in my postings.  I really need a better system for my artwork.  Maybe this fall my computer will get an overhaul in organization...maybe...
Anyhow, I wanted to tell you how I did the frame around the Title and Amy's picture. I cut half inch strips of cardstock and  made a paper frame around the outside edge of the photo mat, placing it down with repositionable adhesive.  I took a sponge and dipped it in garden green ink, then swiped the sponge from the outside in towards where the photo will be placed.  I did all four sides.  Then I removed the frame and WALA I have a inked frame for my photo.
Again, I also used my trusty how to books for the sketch for this layout.
