The Rose Birthday Card

It is My Mom's Birthday coming soon (May 12th) but my brother and I are going to surprise her this weekend with a shopping spree in the City. This is the Birthday card I made her. It is an old Close To My Heart stamp, right from the days that Close To My Heart sold rubber stamps with wood blocks! But this stamp was my Mom's favorite so of course I had to use it!

Hello! It is such a beautiful day here today. The sun is shining and the temperature is warming up to finally give us a hint of spring. Still a little too cold for me to be outside so I spent the morning making cards again. I am having so much fun making all these cards ( I usually am a scrapbooker) and it has been way too long since I did make cards.
Anyways...

The new Bella Paper Packet and matching stamps are so pretty! I would have to say this may be my favorite paper in the Summer Catalogue. This paper came in my package yesterday so I might get a chance to play with it later today. Keep checking back to see some more "sneak peaks".

Back Country X7110B

This is the new Back Country Paper Packet. It will be great for anything masculine or for camping etc. Of course it is way better to look at in person that in the picture but you get the idea.

It's My Birthday!

It is my Birthday today. I guess that means I am getting older. Where on earth does the time go? My husband (the sweetheart that he is) gave me a beautiful flower arrangement today.

Anyways, I am going to give you a little gift today too...a sneak peak at some of the new things in the CTMH Summer catalogue.

My Book Collection.

I liked my supply boos so much that I also made a matching Book Collection Book.

My Supply Book

I made this book quite a while ago but I wanted to share it with you. The reason I made it was that I had gone shopping and bought a flower punch. I was so excited with my purchase until I got home and found out I already owned the same punch! Bummer. It was then that I decided I had to come up with a system so that didn't happen again. That is when I made this book. I recovered chipboard (actually dis-assembled cereal boxes) for the front and back cover. I also made the inside of the covers into pocket pages. For the inside pages I used cardstock and made little tabs for each section. I wrote every item that I own for scrapbooking into that little book. It was time consuming at first to enter everything but the end result was well worth it. I now take this book with me shopping so I have an idea if I already own it. And I diligently record my purchases when I return home so it is up to date.
The categories inside are:
Stamps
Punches
Ink Pads and Markers
Stamping Mediums Like Perfect Pearls
Tools (this is a big section)
Thread
Other Supplies
I also have a Paint section because I like to do tole painting too
Papers used where from the Enchanted Paper Packet X7087B

Here is another card featuring the Ms. Gardner stamp set (D1344)
I just love the versatility of the set. Here I did some Paper Piecing. This is where you stamp the image onto the cardstock just like usual, then you ink up the stamp again and stamp onto patterned paper focusing just on the girls shirt. Cut the shirt out of your patterned paper and glue overtop of the image you stamped onto cardstock. Repeat this process for the pants, this time using a different patterned paper. Color the rest of the image in using pencil crayons or markers.
Supplies used are:
Ms Gardner stamp set D1344
CTMH cardstock in sweet leaf, barn red and white daisy.
B&T patterned paper from the Emporium paper Packet X7105B
CTMH Ink in Black and sweet leaf
CTMH coloring pencils
Martha Stewart border punch
flower punch (unknown)
sweet Leaf Brad.

My 22nd Anniversary Layout

My 22nd Anniversary Layout
I never scrapbook in order. I find that too limiting. I like to jump around with my layouts with whatever picture motivates me. This Picture was Taken in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
I made this layout quite a while after my actual 22nd Anniversary. I am actually going to celebrate my 25th this November! My how times flies...
Anyways all supplies are from CTMH.
I used some pearl paint on the Title. To do this I squeezed a small amount of Pearl paint and mixed it with about 3 drops of Cranberry reinker. I then painted over top of my Chipboard numbers and letters. Let dry then did a second coat. This is really shimmery in person. I also used some of the leftovers on a White Daisy flower to match

MS Gardner D1344

I had a lot of fun making this card up. I dug out my sewing machine, dusted it off and actually done some sewing on paper. I will say I am not a seamstress ( I actually have never sewn on material before) but maybe with a little practise...you never know...
