This is a layout I loved to make. It seems so bright and cheerful. I stamped two apples and used them in place of the “o’s” in Good. I also punched 1 ½ inch circles out of the patterned paper, cut them in half and used them as a border. A quick and easy technique but it adds a little punch to the finished layout.

Sonoma papers remind me of my grandmother, very elegant. The papers were edge distressed with the finger daubers to give it that “aged” look. This is also the first layout that I got to use the new Zip Strip…this is an additional border attached to the top of the 12x12 papers, a really great new addition to Close To My Heart papers. It is the diamond looking border. I also used a EK success scalloped Scallop border for the Cocoa piece above the zip strip. I then layered a mixture of stamping and embellishments in a couple of places on the layouts. This cluster attracts your eye from left to right making it a smooth viewing layout.

I have come across a ton of artwork that I have not posted yet but the papers are retired. Some of these are layouts that I have done a long time ago and some are more recent when I went digging in my stash of papers to use some of it up. Anyhow, I am going to post a bunch of it in the next few weeks. Some have products listed and some do not. I hope you enjoy it anyways.

This layout is made with the Roxie Workshop on the Go kit. These are really simple to make as all the instructions are provided in a full color brochure. They are also very flexible to make changes to suit your photos or your tastes.
One of the things that I did not really like about the instructions for this layout was the plain circle on the left hand page. It was too plain for me. So out comes my trusty old Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge! I really liked the look of the Circle4 image on page 51 of the booklet. I didn’t have a whole sheet of the paper that the instructions said to use so I went digging in my stash of paper and came across the notebook sheet from the Notebook paper packet. So that is what I used to cut out the Circle4 image at 9 inches.
One of the other great things about using only Close to My Heart paper is that it is so easy to mix and match different kits! You are not searching endlessly for papers to match with just the right shade of beige. A real time saver!
I also got to use the straight pins from the Bling assortment. They do come with little rubber stoppers to place on the back of the pin if you were wondering. I know I was happy to see the little rubber stopper as I bought some other pins from another company a little while ago and the did not come with the protector so I was scared that someone would get poked so I never used them.

For this layout today I used the Cricut Craft Room to weld my letters together. This program is really easy to use and it is FREE thorough Cricut (Provo Craft). I don’t get a lot of time to play around with this program but from what I have seen so far it is pretty user friendly.
I used the Art Philosophy cartridge to get my 5 things title from. I welded the word “things” together so it came out as one piece instead of 6 separate letters. With the weld feature you can do this to any title or saying you want to. And make it any size you want to as well. How cool is that?
I also used Photoshop and my wide format printer to print my journaling down the left side of page 1.
I am still waiting on a photo to be printed so I can place it in the right hand page.

This was another of my quick layouts. One thing that makes this layout quick is that I used all 4x6 photos. I didn’t have to dig through my digital photos on my computer, then Photoshop them to the correct size and print on my printer. Sometimes that makes scrapbooking more work that I want to put into it on certain days. So I get some of my best photos printed at either Don’s Photo or Blacks Photo in 4x6 size to have to scrapbook quickly. I am always on the lookout for layout sketches too that incorporate 4x6 photos so I can do some quick layouts. I hope you like this one.
